Housing sales in Turkey have increased by 65% last year

Last year 1,157,190 houses were sold in Turkey, while in 2012 - only 701,621. Consequently, annual sales growth amounted to 65%, according to ee24.com citing turkishpress.com. Most of these sales were made in major cities such as Istanbul (20.3%), Ankara (11.9%) and Izmir (6.3%).

Foreigners bought 12,181 properties in Turkey last year. It was particularly popular among Russians who purchased 1,388 houses and apartments, as well as among British (720) and Germans (653). The most attractive regions for foreign buyers were Antalya (5,548 sold properties), Istanbul (2,447) and Aydin (1,053).

Recall that property in Turkey is now by 13.55 % more expensive than a year before. Apartment in Antalya can be bought for about €500 per square meter, in Istanbul - for €1,000 per square meter.
