In the third quarter of 2013 in Turkey 293,318 homes were sold, which is 0.6% less than in the previous quarter. Such information was provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), ee24.com reports citing antalyatoday.
Most homes were sold in Istanbul - 54,024, accounting for 18.4% of total sales. The share accounted for 11.7% in Ankara, and 6.1% in Izmir.
Buyers showed little activity in Hakkari, there were only 24 homes sold. In Ardahan and Bingöl were sold just 75 and 92 objects, respectively.
Mortgage sales when purchased house acts as collateral to secure the loan amounted to 39.3% of the total sales. In the first two quarters of this year index remained at the same level.
