Spanish commercial amnesty for illegal coastal housing

The Government of Spain has approved amendments to the "On the coasts" law, according to which illegal shoreline buildings (a national property is within 100 meters away from the water's edge) still are not to be demolished and will be amnestied. However, on a payment basis and for several decades, informs the ee24.com citing the Spanish media.

It is planned that owners of about 24,000 real estate objects, located on Spanish coasts, which were considered illegally constructed by law of 1988, but having a respite until 2018, will pay an additional 6% tax of the cadastral property value. In addition, the demolition delay will be extended after 2018 or for another 75 years. The owners of these houses are not allowed to expand their housing, but they can renovate it or sell.
