Rents in Spain are stable

The average price for a rental home in Spain remained unchanged in March 2013 compared with the same month in 2012, reported Kyero.com citing data from the National Statistics Institute. Since the beginning of 2013 rents fell by 0.1%.

The cost of property renting in Spain fell slightly year on year. Thus, the rates decreased in 10 regions. The largest drop recorded in Navarra (-2.1%) and Murcia (-1.8%), followed by Madrid (-1.1%), La Rioja (-0.7%), Valencia (-0.5%), Aragon (-0.3%), Andalusia (-0.2%), Canary Islands (-0.1%) and Castile - La Mancha (0.1%).

Meanwhile, the newspaper El Mundo reported that rental growth occurred in the following areas of Spain: Galicia (+1.3%), Catalonia (+0.9%), Cantabria (+0.8%), Basque Country (+0.8%), Castile and Leon (+0.8%), Asturias (+0.5%) and the Balearic Islands (0.4%).
