Citizens of Russia took third place in the ranking of foreign property buyers, according to a new report by the General Council of Notaries of Spain. The Russians have settled down in the ranking just behind the British and the French. In 2012 foreigners bought more than 64,000 properties in Spain. The contribution of the Russians amounted to nearly 7,000 objects.

Curiously, other responsible authorities reported on a modest results. According to the Spanish Property Iinsight, in 2012 estate's registrars recorded about 27,000 transactions, while the housing department reported 44,000 transactions.

In turn, notaries note that northern Europeans spend on housing in Spain most of all. The Danes pay about €210,000, the Norwegians - €200,000, the Dutch - €199 000, the Swedes - €193,000. The Americans spend on property in Spain on average €190,000, and the Russians - €183,000. They are followed by the Germans (€169,000), the British (€164,000), the French (€162 000) and the Italians (€151,000). On the bottom line ranking are settled the Romanians (€100,000) and the Moroccans (€86,000).
