From October 2013 to September 2014 it was issued just 324 resident permits in exchange for the purchase of property in Spain worth over €500,000, and the investments in the Spanish housing were €256,1 million. Investor program was not in great demand, as every day "golden visas" have been getting only one investor, The Local reports.
The situation does not look sad, as it was granted 72 residence permits from October 2013 to to May 2014, as previously ee24.com reported. A residence permits in Spain for the money were asked often wealthy buyers from the Middle East and Asia.
For comparison, approx. 2 people got the residence permits in Portugal by the investor program per day from October 2012 to July 2014 (1,360 permits for non-resident investors), and the foreign investments amounted to €817 million.
