Investments in real estate in Spain showed a heavy growth

According to BNP Paribas Real Estate, investment in Spanish real estate increased by more than twofold in 2013, reaching €3.8 billion. On the other hand, the company Irea has notice of heavy growth of foreign investment in real estate in Spain: from €433 million in 2012 to €5.2 billion in 2013, according to ee24.com citing noticia.ru and spanishpropertyinsight.com. 

Experts at BNP Paribas note the increased interest to commercial property in Spain: shopping centers attracted 43% of investments in real estate, while residential buildings - only 22%. The most active were investors from the UK, France, Germany, the US and Latin America. 

According to Irea, the situation looks much more promising: in 2012 only 7% of foreign investment in Spain were assigned into real estate sector (€433 million), while in 2013 - already 37% (€5,211 million). "Last year was a turning point, where in an investment desert it began to rain," commented Mikel Echavarren, head of Irea.
