Romania: buyers want to buy, owners don't want to sell

During the first half of the year, apartments in Romania, both new and old, have increased in prices only by 0.7% - from €898 to €904 per sq.m. Although there are no real preconditions for strong increase in prices, many homeowners prefer to postpone the sale until better times, writes ee24.com citing imobiliare.ro.

Apartments on the secondary market have become by 0.9% more expensive and they go for €991 per sq.m. Prices for new apartments in Romania have not changed and amount to €1,184 per sq.m. While the owners of old apartments subjectively perceive the market and set prices that seem to be acceptable to them, developers try to keep the balance between profitability and sales volumes.
