Portugal: foreigners are leaving the country

In Portugal has been a trend of outflow of foreign nationals from the country. By the end of 2012 in the sunny country on the Atlantic coast were 417,042 foreigners, 4.5% lower than a year earlier.

According to the Algarve resident, for the year about 20,000 foreigners has left the country. The Brazilians are most left - almost 6,000 people. Nevertheless, the Brazilian diaspora, numbering more than 100,000 people, still remains the largest in Portugal.

The main reasons for out-migration of foreigners are back to their homeland, the acquisition of Portuguese nationality by foreigners, as well as changes in migration flows.

Despite the outflow of foreigners, ethnic composition of foreign communities remained unchanged. For example, in Portugal live 44,000 Ukrainians, 42,000 immigrants from Cape Verde, 35,000 Romanians, 20,000 Angolans, 17,000 Guineans.

Note that one of the main reasons for the outflow of migrants is a severe recession in Portuguese economy falls.
