Consideration of the Aliens Act, which was scheduled for June 2014 has been postponed indefinitely, according to ee24.com. This directly affects non-residents of the European Union because one of provisions of the Act provides for the issuance of residence permit for buyers of property in Montenegro.
Realtors polled by portal ee24.com, say there were no comments from the Montenegrin authorities, in particular, from the Interior Ministry. Perhaps the question will clearer closer to this autumn. However, society does not fuss and there is no public debate: the fate of the Act is more interesting for Russians and Ukrainians.
At the same time, residence permit in Montenegro can be obtained even now: one has to buy or rent a property, as well as to open a business or get a job. We can assume that the "golden visa" will be issued on preferential terms - faster or for a long run.
