The demand for apartments in Riga is now the highest for last 6 years

855 apartments were sold in Riga in October, and this figure is the highest since 2007, according to ee24.com citing latio.lv.

In total, from Jan to Oct 2013 there were 8.2 thousand transactions, increasing by 20% year on year. Sales of apartments in Riga increased by 19.7% (to 7.4 thousand), sales of houses - by 24.1% (roughly 800).

The most inexpensive, but at the same time, leading in the number of proposals, are apartments in serial buildings, whose value remains unchanged for several years and is about €600 per sq.m. According to Diāna Štāle, Head of "Latio", low volatility in this segment is related to the overall growth in the supply of housing in Riga and the low purchasing power.
