Location
Situated in the lower part of the Val d'Elsa, Radicondoli, is a small medieval village characterized by the important walls and to be at the forefront for treatment of skin and respiratory diseases in hydrothermal station of the “Gallerie”. The surrounding area is characterized by various "habitats": oak woods surrounding countries, the valleys of ì Cecina and Feccia rivers and the surreal landscapes of the fumarole of Larderello. The latter, also called geysers, are emissions of water vapor and gases containing boric acid and other substances that are given off from the soil naturally through cracks or through artificial perforations. At about 30 km from Siena, 60 from Pisa and about 50 km from Florence and a few kilometers from other important medieval towns.
State and Description
The main body of about 404sqmo be restored is divided on two floors and in the urban plan is considered residential and divided in three units, this to have a chance to use it as a single unit or to divide it into 3 units. The first unit was restructured in the 80's is very special thanks to its arched stone entrance leading through the courtyard to the front door. Internally it appears to be divided into a dining area with fireplace, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom with possibility of having two entrances both independent overlooking the courtyard. The other two units instead have the entrance from the quaint courtyard in which we find on the ground floor stables with arches and mangers and two lodges once used as a garage for agricultural machinery .Through a large stone staircase you reach the first floor, that comprises is a large room used as a kitchen-dining area with a large fireplace, there are other 4 rooms to be restructured; a part of the first floor is collapsed due to the failing of a part of the roof. The main building needs renovations, although the external structure is good structural condition, is a perfect example of classic Tuscan style with its original stone and its ceiling where they are always visible beams and joists. Close to the main body we find the annex all in stone which will require minor renovation. The annex is on two floors where the ground floor is a large room used as a dining area and kitchenette, while the first floor is a loft with bedroom and bathroom, all with beamed ceilings and rafters.
Outdoor spaces
The land of approximately 2.5 hectares. It is made up mostly of chestnut wood and wood. The panoramic view of the surrounding countryside Is enchanting.
Potential use
The building is very particular and can be adapted to different solutions. It is possible to restructure the main body into three units with separate entrances, thus using the annex as a home for the owners or renovating the main body as a single dwelling and possibly renting the outhouse.
