Italy has long been the most popular tourist destination for many countries. Its beautiful beaches, breathtaking scenery, amazing food — are main advantages over other countries. However, the leadership of Italy in the ranking of the most popular resorts was contested twice. First, the World Bank, which put Italy on the fifth line of the latest data, and now -  Eurostat put Italy on the first or second lines, along with France, according to the portal ee24.com.

These figures are confirmed by the latest research by Knight Frank. It is noted that the level of sales in Italy in 2012-2013 increased, and foreign buyers are buying houses for the long term, instead of investing in projects that promise a quick profit. According to experts, despite the economic downturn, there is a record level of sales in 2012-2013 (volume of transactions increased by 50% year on year).

Buying a second home in Italy is becoming more popular with foreign buyers. Scenari Immobiliari study showed that in 2012, foreign investors bought 14% more real estate, and spent €2.1 billion. Most (over 40%) buyers are from Germany, 18% of customers are from the UK and 13% - from Russia.

Dawn Cavanagh-Hobbs, founder of Appassionata, is surprised with diversity of buyers from many countries, and notes that he personally is currently working with the Swiss, Italians, Scots, Irish, British, Americans and French. The main thing they are looking here - is an idyllic Italian village life and the endless summer.
