The new property taxes in Greece will save many owners

Greece has introduced the new unified property taxes, which will be subject to housing worth over € 50,000 (rates from 0.1% to 2%). Taxes with a threshold of € 50,000 will reduce the burden on the majority of taxpayers (about 1 million), according to Ekathimerini.com.

The new property taxes in Greece will be applied in the second half of 2013. According to Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras, apartments, the value of which exceeds 10 million euros, will be subject to 2% tax.

Some provisions of new property taxes will be more refined. Rather, the threshold for married couples will be € 100,000.
