On the Greek island of Rhodes the number of applications from foreign investors increased by 40%

In 2015, Rhodes was visited by a record number of wealthy European tourists. Now they are actively interested in local real estate.

The largest group of foreign buyers are the citizens of Germany (33%), UK (25%), France and Belgium (13%). The most popular destinations are Lindos, Vlicha and Pefkos. The value of sqm is up to €4000, some premium villas weresold €7,000 per sqm.

There is a lot of potential buyers in the Eastern part of Rhodes as well. The limited supply leads to sustained higher prices, however, líndos real estate is still more expensive. On average, homes on the East coast cost €2500 - €3000 per sqm. Specific properties with direct access to the sea are estimated at €4000 per sqm


23 km from the town of Rhodes is situated the island of Symi, which was nicknamed "Saint-Tropez of the Aegean”. The best houses on Symi are also for sale at €4000 per square.


Most of the owners of houses and villas in Rhodes apply for the small mortgage loan or even do not need it. Over 60% of them consider housing in Rhodes as a way of ensuring a peaceful old age, or preservation of their capital.

Additional incentives for the purchase of luxury real estate in Rhodes are the low tax rate on transfer of ownership and the opportunity to obtain a residence permit in the case when the value of property is €250,000 or more.
