National Bank of Greece has purchased the 170-meter high skyscraper Crystal Tower (Soyak Kristal Kule) in Istanbul at a price of $303 million (€219 million), according to ee24.com citing hurriyetdailynews.com.
While the real estate market in Greece is trying to get out of the crisis, the leading bank of the country acquires assets abroad, outside the EU. This is one of the largest transactions in the market of commercial property in Turkey in recent years.
Crystal Tower was recently built in the business district of Levent, in the European part of Turkey's largest city. It's planned that the 40-storey building will become the main office for Finansbank, credit institution owned by National Bank of Greece.
