Kefalas is a village 282 metres above sea level with some 300 permanent residents. It belongs to Vamos municipality in the Apokoronas region which in turn consists of the following villages namely Kefalas, Drapanos and Palailoni. It's a green and quiet part compared to for instance The Akrotiri (which is the peninsula next to Chania), with less houses and a more traditional lifestyle.
