Domestic demand dominates the real estate market in Germany

It is well known that real estate in Germany has considerable investment potential. Despite this, it is the local buyers that form the most stable demand in the German property market, informs ee24.com referring to property-abroad.com.

2012 was the year of the German buyer. Despite strong demand from foreign investors (mainly from Asia), it is the local investors that in 2012 accounted for 75% of the market, and in 2013 — the whole 80%.

Karsten Nemecek, managing director of corporate finance of Savills, said that in 2013 more trades was made than a year earlier.

It is expected that the demand in Germany will remain at a high level until the end of 2013, despite the steadily rising prices.
