Metro line T2 will be built in Nice in several years. This spring authorities began to survey work along the future highway. Archaeological examination is conducted under projected stations, reports ee24.com citing the French media. Now Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs conducts exploration work on the Boulevard Victor Hugo - in the heart of the bourgeois Nice, near the future station Jean Medecin.

Underground tram, as they call it in Nice, will carry passengers along the coast from the eastern outskirts of the city to the airport Nice Cote d'Azur in the west. It is assumed that 3 of 11 km of the route (4 out of 20 stations) will be under ground. Most likely, the line T2 will become one of the busiest in the country: such conclusions can be made after looking at the statistics of buses. Metrotram will run every 3 minutes, serving 105 thousand passengers per day.

Property in Nice along the underground line T2 will go up in value. Under the windows there will be noisy, but housing within these windows will increase in price. "The situation around the construction of subways in Nice will be interesting for anyone who's got the real estate on the French Riviera or just going to do it," says Konstantin Grape, managing partner of portal ee24.com. "During operations, housing prices may fall (nobody wants to live at the construction site) and a time to purchase will come. But after the launch of the line real estate near stations will go up in value, exceeding the previous figures."
