Gorgeous and unique Villa Raumanlinna" built on the shore of lake Saimaa in 1900, near the town of Savonlinna. Villa Raumanlinna" (Castle in the world) was built by Niels Vejmanom (Nils Weckman, 1850-1906). He held the position of Lieutenant-General in the management of fortification of the Imperial army. The project started in 1895. Supervision of construction works was entrusted to the architect Allan Shulman. In construction works were attended by hundreds of men and dozens of horses.
