Real estate prices in Finland are growing despite the downturn in the market

In the first quarter of 2013, the number of transactions of property purchase and sale in Finland decreased by 7% compared to the same period in 2012, according to the portal Fontanka.fi with reference to the real estate company Asuntoverkko.

Reducing transactions occurred in Kainuu (21%), North Karelia and North Savo (11-12%), Kymenlaakso, North Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia (9-10%). The same situation was in the metropolitan region, with the exception of Vantaa. In Helsinki and Espoo number of real estate transactions fell by 15%.

Despite the decline in transactions in the property market in Finland, the cost of second homes has increased in Helsinki and Espoo by 7%, in the Häme – by 12%, in Kymenlaakso – by 6%, in South Karelia – by 5%.
