Päivi Räsänen, the Minister of the Interior, announced the country's need of immigrants that can reduce a shortage of staff in the labor market.
The minister said that she is ready to cancel all restrictions for those who working in Finland, but is not citizens of the European Union. Päivi Räsänen has been known for her democratic views on immigration.
To date, all the jobs that appear in the labor market in Finland firstly should be offered to the citizens of the country, and only after that to foreign applicants. Minister of the Interior announced her intention to present a new strategy of immigration by the spring 2013.
According to recent reports, Finland needs about 10-20 thousand migrants to avoid shortages.
The simplification of employment for non-residents, not for the first time rose in political circles in Finland, however, all offers were rejected.
