Massive and unique building made from limestone was built as a cellulose factory in 1926. The house was called Fahle to honor the german entrepreneur and director of the factory Emil Fahle. In 2006 the building was cardinally reconstructed. The vision of architects Andrus Kõresaar and Raivo Kotov, which combined the olf and the new, has created a firm and clear contrast between limestone and glass and has received recognition around the world. The house design was exhibited in a museum in London as one of 5 best. In 2006 the building has received a status of The Estonian Cultural Fund Piece. Fahle house is located on the Sossi hill, which is one of the topmost areas of Tallinn. Fahle apartment is located in the 5 storey part of the building. Entrance is on the side of Tartu highway. Another entrance is from the opposite side, from where it only takes 2 minutes to get to the bus station. The corridors and staircase are roomy and classy.
