There are two "not highly developed" countries in the EU

In the Human Development Report 2014 published by the UN can be found a ranking of countries by this indicator. According estimates, Norway, Australia, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United States are the leading nations, writes ee24.com.

The countries with very high human development include 49 states, and there are almost all of the EU members in this category, ranging from Norway, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark in the top ten, and ending with Portugal, Hungary, Croatia and Latvia in the fifth ten.

Place from 50 to 102 are assigned to countries with a simply high human development. Only 2 of them are in the EU: Romania (54) and Bulgaria (58), and there are many which have chances to join it sooner or later: Montenegro (51), Turkey (69), Serbia (77), Macedonia (84), Bosnia and Herzegovina (86) and Albania (95). It also includes many CIS countries such as Belarus (53), Russia (57), Kazakhstan (70), Ukraine (83).

Moldova (114) is the only European country that is still among states with medium human development. Most of countries with low human development are located in Africa.
