Berlin is preparing to rival with London and Paris, as far as in 2013 the German capital was among the top three cities in Europe by the number of nights spent by tourists, reports ee24.com citing europeancitiesmarketing.
Among the 15 leading cities there are three representatives of Germany, two of Spain, two of Italy and one from each England, France, Czech Republic, Turkey, Austria, the Netherlands, Sweden and Ireland. Tourists had 53.7 million overnight stays in London (+3.3%), 36.7 million in Paris (-0.6%), 26.9 million in Berlin (+8.2%), 24.2 million in Rome (6.2%).
Compared with 2012 the number of nights that tourists stayed in 15 cities increased by 3.5%, especially in Hamburg (+9.1%), Milan (+8.3%) and Berlin (+8.2%). Interest to Paris (-0.6%), Madrid (-4.3% ) and Dublin (6.3%) decreased.
