Lonely Planet, one of the most authoritative guidebooks, published a list of 10 best cities for travel in 2016. Half of them are in Europe.
On the first place is Kotor, one of the oldest cities in Montenegro, located on the Adriatic coast. Nowhere else on the Adriatic medieval architecture is not so well and integrative preserved as in this town. It is quite a unique atmosphere, which has not yet destroyed the crowds of tourists. But they say that the times of Dubrovnik are over, so that the idyll does not last forever.
The third place occupies Dublin, capital of Ireland. Impressive and rich history, a large number of attractions, lots of greenery and the almost complete lack of modern high-rise buildings - this is what attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world.
On fifth place is Rotterdam, the second largest city of Netherlands. The largest port in Europe and always pulsating, changing city, looking up - there is a place here for skyscrapers, trendy boutiques and bohemian chic.
Eighth place occupies English Manchester. City of football, punk rock and perfectly preserved monuments of medieval architecture is a must-see when traveling throughout the UK.
And closes the “Top 10” Eternal City, the capital of Italy, Rome. Pope Francis announced 2016 the Year of Charity, and the crowds of pilgrims already tend to Rome. In addition, in 2016 will finally be completed large-scale restoration of the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain will be reopen. So we’ll see the renewed Rome!
Besides European cities in “Top 10” are presented Quito (Ecuador), Georgetown (Malaysia), Mumbai (India), Fremantle (Australia) and Nashville (United States).
