Czechs expel foreigners from the resorts

Buying property in the Czech Republic does not grant a residence permit, and getting the Czech visa does not give a right of indefinite stay in the country. Local police conduct raids on resorts and expel those with expired visas, according to ee24.com citing radio.cz.

In 2013, in the Ústí region, 443 foreigners were forced to interrupt their treatment, and 334 of them were even expelled from the country. The reason was simple: they had expired visas. Sometimes such patients even hadn't time to complete a full course of rehabilitation. Policemen recognize the absurdity of the situation, but nonetheless they have to keep to the letter of the law.

Police have sent home patients from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Sri Lanka, Philippines and India.

The maximum validity of a medical visa in the Czech Republic is three months. Often happens that it's not enough for a full recovery. To continue a treatment, patient must return to his home country to expect another visa.
