Compared to the last year, sales of property in Cyprus have been growing the fourth consecutive month, and transactions involving foreign buyers have become more frequent during last two months, according to ee24.com citing cyprus-property-buyers.com.
In June 403 sales contracts were signed, including 305 with locals and 98 with foreigners. In annual terms, the number of transactions increased by more than 1.5 times. Cypriots were buying more actively in Limassol (from 46 to 109) and Larnaca (30 to 63), foreigners - in Paphos (21 to 41) and Larnaca (10 to 18).
For six months the islanders have acquired 1,612 properties (+26% compared with H1 2013), foreign buyers - 601 (+20%). Overall, 2213 houses and apartments were sold in H1 2014, while in the entire 2013 there were 3,767 contracts.
