Real estate in Croatia slightly lost in the price

In April 2013, a property in Croatia fell by 0.2% compared with March 2013. For comparison, the annual loss in value amounted to 4.8%, said portal CentarNekretnina.net. Real estate across the country (excluded Zagreb) increased by 0.2% compared with March 2013, while the year-on-year drop was 2.5%.

Real estate in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb, cost about €1,615 per 1 m2, 0.6% drop from March 2013 and 5.8% decrease from March 2012. The most expensive housing in the Croatian capital is located in Medveščak (€2,234 per 1 m2) and in the city center (€2,062 per 1 m2). The most affordable properties in Zagreb are located in Sesvete (€1,169 per 1 m2) and Donja Dubrava (Lower Dubrava) (€1,365 per 1 m2).

The average price of apartments on the Adriatic coast of Croatia has not changed practically (€1,991 per 1 m2, 0.3% less than in April 2012). Apartments overlooking the sea climbed by 2.1% (€1,643 per 1 m2) compared with March 2013. For comparison, individual houses cost €1,545 per 1 m2 (-1.1% on a monthly basis and -3.4% in annualized).

The most expensive housing on the Croatian coast (over €2,000 per 1 m2) is still in the regions Dubrovnik, Split-Dalmatia and Primorje-Gorski Kotar.
