Golf resort will be built near Dubrovnik

Despite vehement protests from residents of Dubrovnik in Croatia, local authorities agreed to build a golf resort on the Adriatic coast. The referendum, which was to allow the construction of the resort, has failed due to low voter population (less than 50%). Even so, many citizens continue to believe that the construction of the resort would harm nature and the historical appearance of the glorious Dubrovnik, informs portal Croatian Times.

The project, called Golf Park Dubrovnik, has two golf courses, two hotels, 240 villas and 400 apartments. Total area is 310 hectares. It is also planned to open golf academy. The project is encouraged and supported the eminent Australian golfer Greg Norman. The resort will set to begin at the end of this year.
