The last six years, the Council of Ministers of Albania unilaterally canceled each summer visas for Russian citizens. In 2015 the decision was taken late, prompting nervous tourists who have already planned a vacation in Albania. But the period of visa-free entry was extended for two autumn months: from 1 June (de jure because de facto decision has in effect since June 12) till the 1st November 2015[1].
In addition to Russia, during the holiday season, Albania abolished visas for citizens of Belarus (first time!), Georgia, Oman and Kuwait.
Recall that last year Albania has been granted the status of candidate for membership in the European Union, and since that time interest in this Balkan country is increased, including the real estate market - the prices are still relatively low compared to neighboring Montenegro and Serbia, at the same time the process of obtaining a residence permit is fairly liberal.
