Property re-evaluation concluded in Albania

The deadline to give a real estate its real value in the market expires this Friday. Citizens had an opportunity until August 31 to re-evaluate their properties, benefiting from the amnesty law. Property re-evaluation means that it will take the value of its sale in the real estate market, paying near the Mortgage Office only 1% taxation on price differentiation or privatization.

If citizens that have a house built before the 2000, want to sell it without re-evaluating it, will pay a 10% taxation of the price differentiation. Latest Finance Ministry data show that nearly 58 000 houses have been re-evaluated throughout the country.

The re-evaluation of real estates was part of the Fiscal Amnesty law, which came to power last year on June and its first deadline was March 31, 2012. Seeing as citizens showed a greater interest at the end of the process, the deadline was extended until the end of August.
