PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: Total area: 676 m2 From the story: In 1910, renowned architect Fritz Prediger (Friedriger Fritz, 1859 — 1922) designed and built for himself and his family a Villa called "Transylvania", which is located in the heart of Maribor. The Villa its name was in honor of the Transylvanian city of Sexburga (Schässburg), the birthplace of Fritz Prediger. The Villa was built in the Baroque style with spacious and comfortable basement, and then fashionable mansard roof. Decorated Villa is also in accordance with the tastes of the early 19th century: the facade is decorated with stucco with the coat of arms of the family of Frideger, the sundial with the cherubim and the most remarkable stone relief of the allegory of the seven liberal arts. Originally, this relief was to be sealed seven figures, depicting the "free science", but subsequently, Frideger changed his mind: he chose an image that included all the members of his family. Sitting on the throne of Architecture (the wife of Ridiger) with a reduced figure of the house in the right hand. To the left of the Architecture are the two daughters of Frideger — Sculpture, sculpting a statue, and Painting with palette and brushes in hand. On the right is the Stone master (he's holding the brick) is what Fritz Prediger. Behind him is a Joiner master c a hatchet in his hand, and in the foreground is a little boy also with a brick in his hand, indicating that both the son of the architect, continued the urban development business of the father. He Frideger engaged in the manufacture and design of furniture for the home, as well as all internal wooden decorative elements. After his family moved, Prediger in Graz, the Villa became Maribor merchant Scarlet Josip (Josip Škerlec), which has not made any significant changes to the architecture of the building. The Villa is built in 3 floors: basement, first floor, second floor and a spacious loft. Entrance to the Villa is richly decorated with sculptural ornament which is decorated and other parts of the Villa. Window of the Villa is decorated in traditional Baroque style wrought-iron grilles. Also the appearance of the villas form the Eastern facade with a covered winter veranda and summer terrace on the South facade. In the South-Western facade of the architect in the later phase of construction added a rounded corner balcony. The interior of the Villa is under renovation, most plaster has been removed, the roof of the building and wooden inner ceiling is well preserved, particularly the wooden stairs. This original carved staircase gives the home a grandeur. To the left of the entrance to the Villa is a kitchen connected with a dining room opening onto a covered winter veranda. A wide staircase leads to the second floor where there is the sleeping area of the house. One of the bedrooms with EN-Suite located directly above the kitchen and opens to a balcony, the other has access to the outdoor veranda. On a flat, Sunny plot of land is also a covered gazebo with a round table and a garage that blends in harmoniously with the style of the Villa.
