Portuguese "Golden visa" has become even more attractive: the threshold of obtaining is reduced!

From July 1 Portugal has reduced the minimum investment amount on the Golden Residence program, which makes the Portuguese «Golden visa» one of the most affordable programs of residence permit by investment in Europe. Now the minimum investment threshold is €350 000 (previously this amount was €500 0000)

Thus, with the lowering of the threshold for obtaining a residence permit, Portugal is becoming one of the most affordable countries for immigration by investment basis.

New rules are introduced with a number of restrictions. In particular, the new minimum purchase price relates to constructions over thirty years, as well as in the areas of cultural and historical heritage or reconstruction. Costs for restoration will be included in the minimum threshold. In addition, the minimum investment amount may be reduced even more if a property is located in a sparsely populated country.

For new buildings the threshold of obtaining a "Golden visa" remains, €500 000.

Also under the new rules children over 18 are not required to study in Portugal to qualify for a residence permit together with my family.

Are proposed new options for obtaining residence permit through investment: in particular, investment in research activities in the country from €350 000, in the artistic and cultural heritage - €250 000, and in the capitalization of small and medium business €500 000.
