Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and the Portuguese hotel operator Grupo Pestana are going to invest € 75 mln. in opening of four boutique hotels in Portugal, Spain and the United States.
The first two hotels will be opened next year on the Portuguese island of Madeira and in Lisbon, two more - in Madrid and New York in 2017.
According to Ronaldo, this is the biggest project of his life and his purpose is to take care of the future of his son. The investment of footballer will amount the half of all the sum and he will own 50% stake in the joint venture.
Grupo Pestana is the largest hotel operator in Portugal. The network will carry the brand of Ronaldo - "CR7", and the geography of hotels is associated with significant for Cristiano cities: Funchal on the island of Madeira, where he was born, Lisbon, where he began his career, Madrid where he became famous, and New York, the city of the Major League.
Investments of € 37 mln. won’t seriously shake the financial statement of Cristiano Ronaldo, whose capital is estimated at € 210 million. (he is considered to be the richest player of the planet).
