30 June Lithuanian Seimas voted for the amendments to the aliens. Applicants for residence permits on the basis of doing business are still required to pay their employees not less than 2 average salaries in a month. Now, however, no one will require from the entrepreneur-a foreigner to hire at least 3 people - this condition was abolished.
As employees now it is possible to hire not only residents but also citizens of other countries wishing to obtain a residence permit in Lithuania.
Certain simplifications are provided for the startupers and talented people - speed procedure for granting residence permits and the possibility to bring to Latvia their family. The Ministry of economy will estimate the company for compliance with the concept of "startup" and issue a special permit. If after receiving the license the company did not start its activity, the permit will be withdrawn.
