Sardinia for 1 euro: the Italian island joins the European sale

It seems that the success of other regions of Italy and neighboring France in revitalizing the infrastructure and attracting new residents inspired Sardinian authorities to amend the new housing plan.
The new plan includes providing city authorities the right to sell real estate in the historic center of the old city for a symbolic price of one euro, with the obligation for the buyer to reconstruct the acquired housing.

According to the CNA survey 41% of dwellings on the island are older than 40 years, and a third of them are in disrepair. On average, every second home in Sardinia needs renovation.
At the same time there are some restrictions: "one euro rule" is not applicable in the area A of historical center, as well as for housing, which is a the primary residence of people with disabilities.

Forthose customers who decide to organize the restructuring of real estate intended for social needs, public places and parks, located in the complex hydrogeological conditions - it puts a premium of up to 40% of the cost.
Authorities believe that the new housing plan will lead to the revival of the regional economy, particularly in the construction sector by creating new business opportunities.
