In Italy the house again can be bought for €1

Another one Italian sale – this time on the island of Sardinia the house can be purchased for only €1. However, the new owner needs to bring it fully in order in a period of 1 year from the date of purchase. This means that the buyer will have to invest in the reconstruction of the object at least €20,000.

Such rules were imposed by the local municipality of the city of Ollolai. Efisio Arbau, mayor of Ollolai, intends thus to revive the deserted town. The same example was followed by some small towns in Liguria, Piedmont and other regions.

As shown, mostly in Sardinian “€1 homes”  are intrested former residents of the Islands, who now live in large cities. They plan to use this "cheap" housing as suburban villas. Mayor of Ollolai also noted that recently on the streets there were seen a lot of foreigners who are actively observing these homes for sale.

Now in Ollolai are on sale 7 such empty houses. They are in poor condition. It is possible that the list of such objects will soon be reinforced with another five dozen old houses.

Some of these buildings, according to the mayor of Lecce-nei-Marsi (province of Lombardy) are architectural monuments that need restoration.
