New wave of foreign investors in Hungary

According to Global Property Guide, Hungary ranked among the 20 most attractive countries for investment. The capital of Hungary occupies 12th place in the ranking of Knight Frank.

According to the National Bank of Hungary listed on the portal Portfolio, last year total investments by foreign investors amounted to €1.16 billion. While non-European investors have doubled their activity in Hungary. This country becomes to them an available "window to Europe".


The representative of one of the local companies noted that if a couple of years ago in the Hungarian apartments and houses were mainly interested the British, Spanish and Irish, now there is a lot of customers from the Middle East and the CIS.


Most investors prefer Budapest — property in the capital can bring income of about 7% per year, which is a high figure for Europe. Many buyers of apartments and houses rent them out to students, immigrants or the locals. Others acquire Hungarian square meters in order to continue to to a small renovation and resell in the near future with a good margin.
