New heights of sales in Hungary this March

Property sales in Hungary are increasing for the third month in a row. In March, 8124 properties in Hungary were sold, which is 21% higher than last year's figure. Thus, this March has become one of the best months for the market over the past two years, reports ee24.ru citing vg.hu.

In Q1 2014 sales rose by 12% compared with the same period in 2013 and amounted to 21 thousand houses and flats. It's expected that the increase in demand may result in a slight increase in prices.

According to Duna House, in the second half of the last year the cheapest apartments in Hungary were sold in panel houses and were worth €400-420 per sq.m. Apartments in brick houses were worth about €460 per sq.m in the East, and €540 per sq.m. in the West.

Apartments in Budapest in panel houses were sold at €540 per sq.m in the east of the capital, in Pest, and at €700 per sq.m in the west, in Buda. Apartments in brick houses were available for €660 and €1055 per sq.m, respectively. Average cost of apartment in the center of Budapest amounted to €62,5 thousand, or €925 per sq.m.
