Louha is a charming mountain village surrounded by beautiful
countryside and is one of the highest villages on the island. It is a
small, traditional village unspoilt by tourism. Louha, like several
other mountain villages on Zakynthos was relatively untouched by the earthquake in 1953 and many buildings have survived. The architecture reminds many of the Peloponnese as early settlers to the island came from this region. There are a few tavernas in the area all known for offering good quality Greek food and having good views. Although Louha is inland it has easy access to the beaches on the west coast - Porto Roxa, Porto Vromi and Limnionas.
Porto Roxa is near the village of Agios Leon. It is a small bay with
crystal clear waters and is a lovely place to swim. Steps lead down to the bay, where mooring is also available for small boats. There is a taverna but the area is unspoilt by tourism so there are not many other facilities.
Porto Vromi is a beautiful small sandy beach with crystal clear waters set in a bay sheltered by limestone cliffs which have made a natural harbour for small ships to moor. Boats and pedalos are available to rent from this beach and also boat trips run from here to the Blue Caves and the Shipwreck, with the trip taking half an hour.
Limnionas is more of a bay than a beach and is an unspoilt part of Zakynthos it really is beautiful. It is near the village of Agios
Leon and is easily accessible by car and has ample space for parking. The bay here is stunning, although there is no sand, so it is not ideal for sunbathing, although there are many spots which provide adequate seating and lounging space. The water here is exceptionally clean and a beautiful blue. It' s a perfect place for snorkeling. There is a taverna overlooking the bay.
The property comprises 2 bedrooms, bathroom, hall, kitchen and
living/dining room with wood burning stove and is being sold with
furniture. The garden has palm trees, an orchard with fig, apricot and walnut trees as well as grape vines.
It is the secluded location and the lack of mains water, electricity
