Russians are the most frequent buyers of real estate in Finland for the last 15 years

In the last 15 years 65% of the Finnish real estate purchased by foreigners, was bought by Russians. Most actively they purchaised the real estate in the country of 1000 lakes in 2008 - it was registered a record number of transactions.


Finnish mass media has often reported that many Russians in Finland create a whole "ethnic settlements". However, investors who participated in this study admitted that they prefer to buy houses far away from their compatriots.


Except the Russians, for 15 years quite often transactions in Finland were made with Germans and Austrians. The most attractive features of Finland for foreign buyers of real estate is security (both physical safety and reliability of investments), unique natural landscape, favorable geographical position.
