The MacKinnon's castle was sold for £4 million

The Hillwood House in Edinburgh, owned by MacKinnon clan who produced Drambuie whiskey, has been sold for a record sum in the property market in Scotland after the financial crisis. An unknown buyer paid £4 million (€5.51 million), as the price for 3-bedroom apartment in South Kensington (elite district of London).

The house was built on the Corstorphine Hill in 1872, near the center of Edinburgh. There are 9 bedrooms and a number of additional facilities. In an area of 7 acres someone can play tennis on outdoor court, train in a gym and remove fatigue in a home cinema.

MacKinnon family sold the rights to the brand Drambuie in 2014, and it came up to the mansion in 2015.

The former family nest of Clan MacKinnon was the second in the list of most expensive real estate in Scotland. The leader, Seton Castle in Longniddry (East Lothian), was sold for £5 million in 2007.
