Press secretary of the EU Delegation to Russia Soren Liborius told Interfax that the Russians would soon be able to travel to the Schengen countries without visas for a term up to 15 days. To be more exact, short-term visas will be available at the moment of crossing the border, writes ee24.com.
Such visas may appear in the near future. Currently, the European Commission's proposal is discussed in the participating countries. The new rules and the liberalization of the visa regime could be a step forward in the relations of Europe and Russia, because recently some senior officials in the European Union declared the possible termination of the issuance of visas as a sanction measure.
