Eurostat: prices in Estonia go up, prices in Croatia go down

According to Eurostat, in the fourth quarter of 2013, housing prices in the EU were by 0.1% lower than in the fourth quarter of 2012. The largest price increase was observed in Estonia, the sharpest drop - in Croatia, according to ee24.com.

Countries, where real estate prices has risen significantly, include Estonia (+15.6%), Latvia (+7.9%), Sweden (+7%), Ireland (+6.3%), the UK (+5.5%). In contrast, real estate went down in value the most in Croatia (-14.4%), Cyprus (-9.4%), Spain (-6.3%), Italy (-4.8% ) and the Netherlands (-4.5%).

Recall that housing is becoming cheaper in the European Union not the first quarter in a row, but the rate of decline is slowing. Thus, in the first quarter of 2013 the decline was 1.8%, in the second - 1.3%, in the third - 0.4%, in the fourth - only 0.1%.
