The new taxes will be levied from 1 January 2013 in Czech Republic. "Solidarity tax" of 7% will have to pay citizens who earn more than 100 000 korunas per month (about 5 000 dollars).
The main basic VAT rate was increased by one point up to 21%. These measures are intended to reduce costs and budget deficit.
