Czech Republic isn't ready to replace Russians with the Chinese

Due to the economic situation in Russia, as well as with restrictions on foreign trips for security officials, the number of Russian tourists in Czech Rep has dropped by 20-35%. Industry experts will strive to keep the Russian-speaking clients, promoting shopping and wellness, writes ee24.com citing radio.cz.

Yan Gerget , director of the Institute of Tourism in CzechTourism, said that the Czech Republic was not ready to replace the Russian guests with the Chinese and would try to contribute to the recovery of demand. "It is unreal to replace Russians with other tourists," said Gerget, noting that last year the country was visited by 803 thousand of Russians.

Now Czechs start to advertise the country on Russian TV channels aimed at two audiences - those who want to go shopping, and those who prefer to relax and be treated on spa resorts.
