The most expensive property in Croatia – in Dubrovnik

Over the past five years, real estate prices in Croatia fell by 30%. The crisis has forced many investors to return to the traditional real estate markets - France, Spain and Italy, reported The New York Times.

The financial crisis has dealt a smallest blow to the real estate market in the Croatian Dubrovnik, old city with an international airport. Housing prices in the Old Town of Dubrovnik range from € 3,500 (repaired housing) to € 6,000 per square meter (housing in good condition). In comparison, housing prices in other cities in Croatia are two times lower than in Dubrovnik. For example, accommodation in Istria costs from € 1,600 to € 3,000 per square meter.

In July 2013, Croatia will be an EU member.
